NOTICE 12 OF 2012

FINANCIAL SERVICES BOARD

FINANCIAL ADVISORY AND INTERMEDIARY SERVICES ACT, 2002

(ACT NO. 37 OF 2002)

EXEMPTION OF ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGERS LIMITED

I, German Emmanuel Anderson, Deputy Registrar of Financial Services Providers, hereby
 exempt under section 44(4) of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002
 (Act No. 37 of 2002) ("the Act"), Aberdeen Asset Managers Ltd until 16 March 2012 from
 section 7(1) of the Act subject to the conditions that it must-

a)  comply with the provisions of the Act; and

b)  prior to the rendering of any financial services to a client, informs the client in writing-

(i)that it is exempted from the Act; and

(ii)of his/her rights to submit complaints (if any) against it to the Ombud for Financial
          Services Providers by virtue of section 26(1)(a)(iii) of the Act, read with the
          applicable provisions of the Rules on Proceedings of the Office of the Ombud for
          Financial Services Providers as published in the Gazette.

The exemption and/or conditions may at any time be amended or withdrawn by the
 Registrar by notice in the Gazette.

This Notice is called the Notice on Exemption of Aberdeen Asset Managers Ltd, 2012, and
 comes into operation on the date of publication in the Gazette.
