ACT

To amend the Money Bills Amendment Procedure and Related Matters Act, 2009
                         so as to amend and insert certain de?nitions; to clarify which instruments the Act
                         apply to; to correct the powers and functions of the committees dealing with
                         matters related to the Act; to clarify and amend the procedure, resultant reporting
                         and periods involved in the amendment of money Bills and division of revenue Bills
                         and related ?scal instruments; to repeal certain provisions; to establish the
                         Parliamentary Budget Office as a juristic person and to strengthen the account-
                         ability model of the Parliamentary Budget Office; and to provide for matters
                         connected therewith.

B   E IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as
                              follows:—

Amendment of section 1 of Act 9 of 2009

1. Section 1 of the Money BillsAmendment Procedure and Related MattersAct, 2009
                         (Act No. 9 of 2009) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), is hereby amended—  5
                             (a) by the substitution for the de?nition of ‘‘Adjustments Appropriation Bill’’ of
                                 the following de?nition:
                                     ‘‘ ‘Adjustments Appropriation Bill’ means the bill that provides for
                                     [the] adjustments to the [appropriation] Appropriation Act necessary to
                                     give effect to [the] a national adjustments budget referred to in section 30 10
                                     of the Public Finance Management Act;’’;
                             (b) by the insertion after the de?nition of ‘‘Adjustments Appropriation Bill’’ of
                                 the following de?nition:
                                     ‘‘ ‘advisory board’ means the chairpersons of the committees of ?nance
                                     and appropriations in each House as well as the house chairpersons of the 15
                                     National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces;’’;
