THE BANKS ACT, 1990 (ACT NO. 94 OF 1990 - THE BANKS ACT)

CONSENT GRANTED IN TERMS OF SECTION 54(1)(b) OF THE BANKS ACT

CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION AS A BANK

Notice is hereby given, for general information, in accordance with the provisions of section 30(1)(f),
               read with section 30(1)(b)(i) of the Banks Act, that the Minister of Finance, has granted consent for the
               transfer of all the assets and liabilities of Mercantile Bank Limited to Capitec Bank Limited in terms of
               section 54(1)(b) of the Banks Act. The registration of Mercantile Bank Limited as a bank was therefore
               cancelled with effect from 1 December 2020 in accordance with the provisions of section 54(6)(b) of
               the Banks Act.
