GENERAL NOTICE 21 OF 2021

RE-ADVERTISEMENT: APPLICATION TO LEASE STATE

FARM DATE OF ADVERT: 17 NOVEMBER 2021

In terms of the Department’s State Land Lease and Disposal Policy, eligible applicants are invited
                   to submit applications to lease agricultural properties described as follows:
                     Property Description           Portion 2 of the farm Highgate No. 16635 FT
                                                    and Portion 18 of the farm Weltevreden No.
                                                    1017 FT.
                     Total Extent                   286.2054 hectares.
                     Current Farm Use               194 HA Natural Grazing.
                     Breakdown                      88 HA arable land (66 pastures). 1x

                     Farm Location and GPS          The farm is located at uMngeni Local Municipality in
                     Coordinates                    Lions River. To reach the property, travel north
                                                    along the N3 past Midmar Dam and take exit 107
                                                    (Howick (north)/Tweedie). Turn left and travel ±1.3
                                                    kilometres. Turn right at the T-Junction and travel
                                                    for ±5.10 kilometres. Turn left onto the
                                                    Dargle/Impendle Road (just before the “Piggly
                                                    Wiggly” commercial complex). Travel for ±500.00
                                                    metres after which the farm will be on your left.

The properties are suitable for various land use. Prospective farmers interested in leasing properties from
                   the state are encouraged to apply.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

•   Applicants must be Africans, Indians and Coloureds, who are South African citizens.  The African in
                          this context includes persons from the first nations of South Africa
                      •   Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a valid South African bar-coded Identity document.
                      •   The target groups for the farm is Women, Youth and People living with disabilities.
                      •   Applicants must indicate their current farming area e.g communal or commonage, if any.
                      •   The successful applicant must be willing to stay fulltime on the farm for the duration of the lease
                          contract.
                      •   Applicants must indicate the farming resources they have or submit proof of access to resources for
                          the farming operation as own contribution; i.e. capital, equipment, biological assets, etc.
