COMMENCEMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES LAWS GENERAL AMENDMENT
                                       ACT, 2013 (ACT NO. 45 OF 2013)

In terms of section 266(1) and (2) of the Financial Services Laws General
              Amendment Act, 2013 (Act No. 45 of 2013), ("the Act"), I hereby determine that the

Act, subject to section 266(3) of the Act, comes into operation on 28 February 2014,
              except-

(a)    sections 5(a) and 186(d) of the Act, which come into operation on 30
                            May 2014;

(b)    section 31 of the Act, which comes into operation on 29 August 2014;
                            and
                     (c)   the following provisions of the Act which shall come into operation on a

date determined in a notice published in the Gazette on a date after the
                            date of this notice:

(i)    section 61 of the Act, in respect of section 18(3) of the Financial
                                   Services Board Act, 1990 (Act No. 97 of 1990);

(ii)   section 95 of the Act;
                            (iii)  section 109(e), (k) and (1) of the Act;

(iv)   section 114(d) of the Act;
                            (v)    section 135 of the Act; and
                            (vi)   section 264 of the Act, insofar as it amends in the Schedule to

the Act, section 1 of the Medical Schemes Act, 1998 (Act No.
                                   131 of 1998).
