                         DEPARTMENT OF COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE AND TRADITIONAL AFFAIRS

NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 14(2)(b)(i) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT: MUNICIPAL SYSTEMS ACT, 2000

1. The Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council responsible for local government, under the powers vested in
            her by section 14(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000, proposes to publish
            the following notice:
            “In my capacity as Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council responsible for local government, under powers

vested in me by section 14(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000, after having
            consulted the Minister of the Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Organised Local Government in the
            Province and Municipalities in the Province, hereby make the standard draft By-laws contained in the Schedule
            hereto.’’

2. Municipalities, the public and interested parties are invited to submit comments in writing on the standard draft by-
               law, by not later than thirty days after the publication hereof, by-
            (a) post to the Head of Department, Co-operative Governance & Traditional Affairs, Pietermaritzburg,
               Private Bag X 9123, 3200 for the attention of Mr Zakhele Majozi;
                                  th
            (b) hand delivered to the 7  floor, Southern Life Plaza, 271 Church Street, Pietermaritzburg, 3200, for the attention of
               Mr Zakhele Majozi;
            (c) facsimile to 033 355 6559; or
            (d) email to zakhele.majozi@kzncogta.gov.za
