                                           PROCLAMATION NOTICE 30 OF 2021

DETERMINATION OF SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF MAGISTRATES

1.    In  terms  of  section  12(1)  of  the  Magistrates  Act,  1993  (Act  No.  90  of  1993)
                DETERMINATION OF SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF MAGISTRATES
                     (hereafter referred to as "the Act"),  I hereby determine that the remuneration of
                     the  magistrates  shall  be  as  set  out  in  the  Schedule  with  effect  from  01  April
                1.   2020, subject to the terms and conditions set out herein.
                      In  terms  of  section  12(1)  of  the  Magistrates  Act,  1993  (Act  No.  90  of  1993)
                      (hereafter referred to as "the Act"),  I hereby determine that the remuneration of
                      the  magistrates  shall  be  as  set  out  in  the  Schedule  with  effect  from  01  April
                2.  The total remuneration packages shall include the following elements:
                     2020, subject to the terms and conditions set out herein.

2.1  A basic salary component equal to 70% of the total package, which constitutes
                     the pensionable salary;
                2.  The total remuneration packages shall include the following elements:
                2.2  Pension benefit contribution to the applicable pension fund; and
                2.1  A basic salary component equal to 70% of the total package, which constitutes
                2.3  A flexible portion for the remaining amount of the total remuneration.

2.2  Pension benefit contribution to the applicable pension fund; and
                2    Notice No. 205 published in the Government Gazette No. 43142 of 25 March
                      2020, is hereby repealed
