                       KWAZULU-NATAL NATURE CONSERVATION BOARD

CONSULTATION PROCESS  IN TERMS OF  THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL
                  MANAGEMENT: PROTECTED  AREAS  ACT,  2003 (ACT NO.  57 OF  2003):
                  INTENTION TO DECLARE THE MEYCOL NATURE RESERVE

Notice  is hereby  given  by the Member  of the Executive Council (MEC)  for the
                  Department of  Economic Development,  Tourism  and Environmental  Affairs in
                  KwaZulu-Natal, The Honourable Mr. S. Zikalala, of the intention to declare the Meycol

Nature Reserve, in terms of Section 23 of the National Environmental Management:
                  Protected Areas Act (Act No. 57 of 2003, as amended). The proposed protected area
                  is located in the Mandeni Local Municipality and the iLembe District Municipality, on

the following property at Tugela River mouth, as shown in the accompanying map:

Meycol Nature Reserve:

•  The Farm Meycol No. 15399, Registration Division FU, Province of KwaZulu-
                         Natal, in extent 74,0127 ha (seventy four comma zero one two seven hectares)

and held under Title Deed T21717/90, and S.G. No. 3793/1980.

Members of  the public are  hereby invited to submit written representation on or
                  objections to the notice to the proposed declaration of the above-mentioned Nature
                  Reserve, as well as any comments on the management plan for the Meycol Nature

Reserve, within 60 days of its publication. All information is available from Ezemvelo
                  KZN Wildlife by requesting the information from Ms Ziningi Hlatshwayo (details shown
                  below).
