In terms of the Standards Act, 2008 (Act No. 8 of 2008), the Board of the South African Bureau of Standards has acted in
             regard to standards in the manner set out in the Schedules to this notice.

SECTION A: DRAFTS FOR COMMENTS

The following draft standards are hereby issued for public comments in compliance with the norm for the development of
             the South Africa National standards in terms of section 23(2)(a) (ii) of the Standards Act.

                     Ed 1          measurements on the  winding insulation.  Provides  a common  basis  for,
                                   measuring  techniques and instruments,  the arrangement of  test  circuits,
                                   normalization and testing procedures, noise reduction, the documentation of
                                   test  results, and the interpretation  of  test  results  with respect  to  partial
                                   discharge off-line measurements  on  the  winding  insulation of rotating
                                   electrical machines.
                SANS 60335-2-97    Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-97: Particular  2022-02-22
                     Ed 3          requirements  for drives  for  rolling  shutters,  awnings,  blinds and  similar
                                   equipment.  Deals with  the  safety  of  electric drives  for  shutters,  blinds and
                                   awnings,  intended  for  household  and similar  purposes, their  rated voltage
                                   being not more than 250 V for single-phase drives and 480 V for other drives.
                 SANS 62135-2      Resistance welding equipment – Part 2: Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)  2022-02-22
                     Ed 2          requirements.  Applies  to equipment for  resistance  welding  and  allied
                                   processes which are connected to mains supplies with rated voltages up to 1
                                   000 V AC RMS. This document does not define safety requirements.
                  SANS 61914       Cable cleats for electrical installations. Specifies requirements and tests for  2022-02-22
                     Ed 3          cable  cleats and intermediate restraints  used  for  securing  cable  in electrical
                                   installations.
                 SANS 60884-3-1    Plugs and  socket-outlets for household  and  similar  purposes  –  Part 3-1:  2022-02-22
                     Ed 1          Particular requirements for socket-outlets incorporating USB power supply.
                                   Applies to fixed  or  portable socket-outlets  for AC only,  with or  without
                                   earthing  contact,  with  a rated  voltage  greater  than  50  V  but not  exceeding
                                   440 V  and  a  rated  current  not  exceeding 32 A,  intended  for  household and
                                   similar purposes, either indoors or outdoors, incorporating USB power supply.
                 SANS 12999-1      Acoustics  –  Determination  and application  of measurement  uncertainties in  2022-02-22
                     Ed 1          building acoustics  –  Part 1:  Sound insulation.  Specifies procedures for
                                   assessing the measurement uncertainty  of  sound insulation in  building
                                   acoustics.
                SANS 80601-2-56    Medical electrical equipment – Part 2-56: Particular requirements for basic  2022-02-22
                     Ed 2.1        safety and  essential  performance of  clinical  thermometers  for body
                                   temperature measurement.  Applies to the  basic  safety  and essential
                                   performance  of  a  clinical  thermometer  in combination with  its  accessories,
                                   hereafter referred to as me equipment. It specifies the general and technical
                                   requirements for electrical clinical thermometers.
                  SANS 16326       Systems and  software  engineering  –  Life cycle processes  –  Project  2022-02-22
                     Ed 3          management. Intended  to aid  project managers  in  managing to successful
                                   conclusion  those  projects concerned  with systems,  including software
                                   systems.
                 SANS 16283-1      Acoustics  –  Field measurement of  sound insulation  in  buildings  and  of  2022-02-22
                     Ed 1          building elements – Part 1: Airborne sound insulation. Specifies procedures
                                   to determine the airborne sound insulation between two rooms in a building
                                   using sound pressure measurements.
