16 No. 44064 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 8 JANUARY 2021 Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Department of/ Landbou, Grondhervorming en Landelike Ontwikkeling, Departement van DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, LAND REFORM AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT NO. 9 08 JANUARY 2021 9 The Agricultural Produce Agents Act (12/1992): Nomination of candidates for appointment to the Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC) 44064 NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE AGENTS COUNCIL (APAC): AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE AGENTS ACT 1992, (ACT NO. 12 OF 1992) The term of office of the members of the Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC) will expire on 04 March 2021. The Agricultural Produce Agents Act 1992, (Act No. 12 OF 1992) makes provision for the appointment of successor members when members’ term of office expires. The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development hereby invites nominations of suitable persons to be considered for appointment as members of the Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC). The objects of APAC are to regulate the occupations of fresh produce, export and livestock agents and to maintain and enhance the status and dignity of those occupations and the integrity of persons practicing those occupations. Nominations are hereby called for persons representing the following: • Fresh Produce Producer (2); • Livestock producers (2); • Fresh Produce Agents (3); • Livestock Agent (3); • Export Agent (3); • The Minister (2); and • Consumers (2). Members of the council will be appointed for a period not exceeding three years. Each nomination must be accompanied by the following: A detailed Curriculum Vitae; a written acceptance of the nomination by the nominee; an indication of the category the nominee would like to be considered for; Certified copies of all qualifications (Including grade 12 certificate); Certified copy of ID document; and a declaration that he or she is not disqualified to serve on the Council in terms of section 3(7) of the above-mentioned. The nomination of candidates to enhance representivity in terms of race and gender are encouraged. Members of the Council shall be paid such remuneration or allowances from the funds of the Council, as the Council may determine. Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check regarding citizenship, qualification (s) and criminal record verification. Nominations should reach the following address on or before 29 January 2021.
