                                               STANDARDS MATTERS

In terms of the Standards Act, 2008 (Act No. 8 of 2008), the Board of the South African Bureau of Standards has acted in
            regard to standards in the manner set out in the Schedules to this notice.

SECTION A: DRAFTS FOR COMMENTS

The following draft standards are hereby issued for public comments in compliance with the norm for the development of
            the South Africa National standards in terms of section 23(2)(a) (ii) of the Standards Act.

                 SANS 9117-3      Paints and varnishes – Drying tests – Part 3: Surface-drying test using ballotini.  2021-02-08
                    Ed 1          Specifies  a  test  method for  determining the  surface-drying characteristics of a
                                  coating of a paint or varnish which dries by the action of air or by chemical reaction
                                  of its components.
                SANS 105-B01      Textiles – Tests for colour fastness – Part B01: Colour fastness to light: Daylight.  2021-02-03
                    Ed 2          Specifies a method intended for determining the resistance of the colour of textiles
                                  of all  kinds and in all  forms to the  action of daylight.  It allows the  use  of two
                                  different sets of blue wool references, the results of which may not be identical.
                 SANS 54103       Fat  and  oil derivatives  –  Fatty Acid Methyl  Esters  (FAME)  –  Determination of  2021-02-08
                    Ed 2          ester and linolenic acid methyl  ester contents.  Describes  a procedure for  the
                                  determination of the ester content in fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) intended for
                                  incorporation into diesel oil.
               SANS 60335-2-116   Household and similar electrical  appliances  –  Safety  –  Part 2-116: Particular  2021-02-13
                    Ed 1          requirements for furniture with electrically motorised parts. Deals with the safety
                                  of furniture  with electrically  motorized parts intended for household and similar
                                  purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V.
