TRADE MARK APPLICATIONS (1993 ACT)
         Any person who has grounds for objection to any of the following trade marks, may , within the prescribed time,
                lodge Notice of Opposition on Form TM 6 contained in the Second Schedule to the Trade Marks
           Regulations,1995.The prescribed time is three months  after the date of advertisement. This period may on
        application be extended by the Registrar.Formal opposition should not be lodged until after notice has been given
          by letter to the applicant for registration so as to afford him an opportunity of withdrawing his application before
          the expense of preparing the Notice of Opposition is incurred. Failing such notice to the applicant an opponent
                                     may not succeed in obtaining an order for costs.

TRADE MARK APPLICATIONS

        1971.The prescribed time is two months for applications filed on or before 30 April 1995 and three months for
        applications filed on or after 1 May 1995.This period may on application be extended by the Registrar.  Formal
        opposition should not be lodged until after notice has been given by letter to the applicant for registration so as to
        afford him an opportunity of withdrawing his application before the expense of preparing the Notice of Opposition
        is incurred. Failing such notice to the applicant an opponent may not succeed in obtaining an order for costs. B

        if the acceptance of an application which claims priority in terms of section 31 (1) (c) is not published in terms of
        section 42 within 18 months from the earliest priority claimed from the relevant application in a convention
        country, it shall be opened to public inspection after the expiration of 18 months from the earliest priority so
        claimed.
