NOTICE  1018 OF 2022
                               CMTP 2022 TROPHY/ STATUE DESIGN COMPETITION (2)

Design academies or schools working individually or in collaboration are invited to participate
                in the Department of Transport’s CMTP 2022 Trophy Art and or Statue Design Competition.
               1)  Criteria
                          a.  The following criteria will apply
                          b.  Original design concept
                          c.  Use of COMPOSITES/ recycled materials from any marine craft
                          d.  Represents the 2022 CMTP Decade Theme
                          e.  Scale of each of the candidate art form is crucial
                   2)  Donations from maritime businesses and public entities encouraged
                   3)  Activity and timelines

                        Submission of concept and methodology  1 June 2022
                        Submission  of  value  chain  analysis  1 August 2022
                        report
                        Adjudication                              15 September 2022
                        Announcement of winners                   11-14 October 2022
                                                                  World  Maritime Day Parallel Event
                   4)  Winners
                          a.  Winning Art Piece Stand a Chance of Being unveiled By the President of the
                              Republic  of  South  Africa  together  with  the  Secretary  General  of  the
                              International Maritime Organization (IMO) during the IMO World Maritime Day
                              Parallel Day Event to be hosted from 11-14 October 2022 in Durban, South
                              Africa.
                          b.  Certificate of Recognition Signed By The Minister Of Transport And Minister
                              Responsible For Arts And Culture.
                          c.  Discretional grant
                   5)  Submissions of proposals
                                         1.  Submission  of  declaration  of  interest  must  be  directed  to  Ms
                                            cmtp2022@dot.gov.za
                                         2.  Submission of concept and candidate materials must be on a
                                            sealed  envelope  directed  marked  CMTP2022-Competition  (2)
                                            and  hand  delivered  to  the  attention  of  the  Director  General:
                                            Transport for the attention Mr Dumisani T Ntuli. The parcel must
                                            be deposited in the Box marked CMTP2022 competition placed
                                            at  the  entrance  hall  at  the  Department  of  Transport,  159,
                                            Struben Street, Pretoria.
                   6)  Special Conditions: This competition and responses to it must not create an expectation
                       from  entrants  that  the  Department  of  Transport  will  in  some  way  or  the  other  enter  into
                       contractual agreement with any or related participants in its further development and execution.
                       The aim of the project is purely to promote critical thinking and innovation in the technical areas
                       of  the  competition  and  that  entrants  have  voluntarily  chosen  to  participate  with  a  full
                       understanding of this condition.
