HEALTH PROFESSIONS ACT, 1974 (ACT NO. 66 OF 1974)

REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE REGISTRATION

OF EMERGENCY CARE TECHNICIANS

The Minister of Health has, under section 24 of the Health Professions Act, 1974 (Act

No. 56 of 1974) and on the recommendation of the Health Professions Council of South

Africa, made the regulations in the Schedule.

SCHEDULE

Definitions

1.     In these regulations, "Act" means the Health Professions Act, 1974, (Act No. 56
                      of 1974) and any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in

the Act has the meaning so assigned and, unless the context otherwise
                      indicates -

"educational institution" means an educational institution which has been

accredited by the professional board to offer training required for the registration

of emergency care technicians;

"emergency care technician" means a person registered as such in terms of
                      the Act; and
