EMALAHLENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

The Municipal  Manager hereby publishes, in  terms of section 13 of the Local  Government:
             Municipal Systems Act, 2000 [Act No. 32 of 2000] read with section 162 of the Constitution of the
             Republic of  South Africa  Act 1996 [Act No.  108 of 1996] the By-laws relating  to Community Fire
             Safety that come into operation on the date of publication thereof in the Provincial Gazette.

BY-LAWS RELATING TO COMMUNITY FIRE SAFETY

PREAMBLE

WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality is  vested with  legislative  authority in  terms of the
             Constitution;

AND  WHEREAS the Council of  the Municipality in  the exercise of its  functions has  the right  to
             promote the achievement of a fire-safe environment and to provide for procedures, methods and
             practices to regulate fire safety for the benefit of all persons residing within the boundaries of the
             Municipality;

NOW THEREFORE be it enacted by the Council as follows:
