PUBLIC NOTICE CALLING  FOR INSPECTION OF  THE  SECOND  SUPPLEMENTARY
                 VALUATION ROLL AND LODGING OF OBJECTIONS

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49(1)(a)(i) read together with section 78(2) of the Local
                 Government : Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004 (Act No 6 of 2004), amended by Act No 29/2014,
                 hereinafter referred to as the “Act”, that the Second Supplementary Valuation Roll (SV02), for the
                 2020/2021 financial year will be open for public inspection at the Municipal Offices, 37 Murchison
                 Street, Newcastle,    the  Madadeni,  Osizweni, Stafford,  Ngagane  and Charlestown  offices and  all
                 libraries within the area of jurisdiction of the Newcastle Municipality, from 19 April 2021 to 21 May
                 2021.   In addition  the  Second  Supplementary  Valuation Roll  (SV02)  will be  available on  the
                 Municipality’s website:  www.newcastle.gov.za.

An invitation is hereby made in terms of section 49(1)(a)(ii) read together with section 50(1)(c) of the
                 Act that any owner of property or other person who so desires, should lodge an objection with the
                 Acting  Municipal Manager in respect of any matter reflected in,  or  omitted from,  the  Second
                 Supplementary Valuation Roll (SV02) within the abovementioned period.

Attention is specifically drawn to the fact that in terms of section 50(2) of the Act an objection must be
                 in relation to a specific individual property and not against the Second Supplementary Valuation Roll
                 (SV02) as such.

The forms for the lodging of an objection are obtainable at the: Municipal Offices, 37 Murchison Street,
                 Newcastle,  Rates Hall, Enquiry Counter.   Monday  to Friday 08:00 to 15:00,  or  on the aforesaid
                 website.
