DEPARTMENT OF CO-OPERATIVE GOVERNANCE AND TRADITIONAL AFFAIRS

NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 14(2)(b)(1) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT:
                  MUNICIPAL SYSTEMS ACT, 2000: PUBLICATION OF STANDARD DRAFT BY-LAWS

1. The Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council responsible for local government,
                  under the powers vested in her by section 14(2) of the Local Government: Municipal

Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000), proposes to publish the following notice:
                        ",/, in my capacity as Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council responsible for
                       local government, and under powers vested in me by section 14(2) of the Local
                       Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No.32 of 2000), after having consulted
                       the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Organised Local
                       Government in the Province and Municipalities in the Province, hereby make the
                       standard draft By-laws contained in the Schedule hereto."

2. Municipalities, the public and interested parties are invited to submit comments in writing
                  on the standard draft by-laws, by no later than thirty days after the publication hereof, by -
                       (a) post to the Head of Department, Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs,
                       Pietermaritzburg, Private Bag X 9123, 3200, for the attention of Ms. Sinegugu

Makhaye;
                       (b) hand delivered to the   7th  Floor, Southern Life Plaza, 271 Church Street,
                       Pietermaritzburg, 3201, for the attention of Ms. Sinegugu Makhaye;
                       (c) facsimile to 033 - 355 6559; or
                       (d) email to sinegugu.makhayeAkzncogta.qov.za
